History

Pictura was founded in 1969 by Erik Arpi. In the beginning the business was very diversified with import and distribution of yarn and knitting items as main products. Gradually the company started to produce greeting cards and reproductions.

The first company abroad was founded 1975 in Norway, closely followed by companies in Denmark and Germany.

Pictura stopped selling reproductions and posters in the late eighties. The company instead concentrated their business on cards, wrapping paper and gift articles.

Today Pictura is situated in six countries through sister companies in the Pictura group and in a further  seven countries through partly owned companies. In addition to the above mentioned companies, there is a distribution of Pictura´s products in several other countries as well.
